Ordering & Returns

Q: How can I find out about the status of my order?
A: The New Zealand orders sent by courier can be tracked and traced on Fastway Couriers website. The ticket number will be sent to you upon request. Australian orders can be traced via NZ Post website. The parcels sent by standard NZ Post within New Zealand can not be traced.


Q: Is there a required minimum order size?
A: Yes, the minimum order is 1 metre

Q: How do I add an item to my Shopping Cart?
A: It is easy to add an item to your Shopping Cart! We sell fabric in metres. Just type how many metres you require and click Add to Cart. At any time you can view the items in your cart on the right side of the web page.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept Visa and Master Card payments and direct money transfers. We do not handle your credit card information. The payments are processed  by Paymate, the secure, accurate and reliable service. We do not accept personal checks.

Q: Will I be charged GST?
A: Product prices displayed include GST.

Q: What if I need to modify or cancel my order?
A: Please email or call us and we will be more than happy to help you with your order.

Q: How do I return a damaged product once it has arrived?
A: Please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as you notice the damage. After 30 days from your original invoice date we will no longer consider items for return.

Q: What is your exchange policy?
A: We do not accept exchanges. We strongly recommend that you order a swatch of the material before purchase to assure colour accuracy.

Q: What if I live outside New Zealand
A: Please contact us for delivery charges

Q: How do I know the colour of an item?
A: The colour of an item can be found in the product description under the product picture. However, due to variations in monitor colour settings, Sateen does not guarantee colour matching. We strongly suggest that you order a swatch before making your final purchase as all sales are final. 

Q: How do I create an account?
A: All you have to do to create an account is follow the short registration process. To set up an account click HERE

Q: How do I update my account information?
A: You can update your account information by logging in on our home page.

Q: How do I find a product online?
A: You can browse through our inventory by material, project, or use the search bar.

A: You can e-mail any of your questions or concerns or call us

A: We do not sell patterns.

Q: Do you have a store when I can buy fabrics from?
A: No, we do not have a store.

Q: Do you offer sample swatches?
A: We will gladly send you a sample swatch of a product for a fee of 20 cents.

Q: Can you recommend a seamstress or dressmaker?
A: On our website we have a database for seamstresses, dressmakers or those, who just love to sew. They are just a CLICK away.

Q: I can sew. How can I register in your database?
A: You are welcome to register in out Free database of Seamstresses, Dressmakers, or just people who love to sew. Click HERE to register.

Shipping

Q: How long will it take for my order to arrive?
A: Most orders are shipped in 24-72 hours by Fastway Couriers. Please allow 1 to 3 days for your order to arrive, or up to 5 days for Rural areas and 5 to 7 days for Australian orders. If you prefer your order to be sent via standard NZ Post, please contact us directly. The parcels sent by NZ Post take 3 to 6 days to arrive.

Q: What if my order arrives damaged?
A: If a product arrives damaged, contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . If it is a defect in the fabric, we will replace it free of charge. Although not responsible, if a product was damaged in transit, we will work with the carrier to try and rectify the problem.

Q: What should I do if I feel my order has been lost in transit?

Q: What if I need help figuring out how much fabric I will need?
A: Click Fabric Estimation. Please note, that calculations provided are approximate. Take in account height and weight, and measure carefully to make sure you are purchasing enough fabric for your project.
